Kinesis Ergo Elan Keyboard
The Ergo Elan offers the same programmability features as our Classic model but is optimized for international computer users. Currently available in four different country-specific versions as well as a US International layout.
Features of the Ergo Elan
- Improved key layout! Optimized for international computer users. See "International keyboard layout options" below. Includes all the key actions you expect from a "102" international keyboard, plus Windows 95/98 key actions, three special key actions which support the optional ClikWare mouse click utility, and even five special Japanese key actions.
- Country Specific Key Legends! Keyboards are currently available with country-specific legends for Danish, German, Norwegain and Swedish countries plus the "US International" layout. Note: For UK users please purchase the Classic UK version.
- Simpler typing. Easier to learn, easier to improve due to design principles that don't date back to the typewriter!
- Optimal split. Your arms go out straight in front of you to relieve neck and shoulder strain and reduce adaptation. Laboratory proven to minimize bent wrists on large and small individuals.
- Optimal lateral tilt. Thumbs are effectively elevated even more than with the Maxim adjustable keyboard to provide virtually total forearm relaxation. No adjustment required.
- Narrow footprint. Your mouse is right where you want it--not at arms length!
- Built-in, padded palm supports. Comfortably padded to take the weight off your shoulders without hurting your hands.
- Quiet, low-force tactile switches. Specially developed to be easy on your fingers and to last virtually forever. Subtle electronic click can be turned off by the user.
- Move the work from your hands to your feet with one of our foot switch options.
- Embedded numeric keypad is standard. Simply toggle the keypad on with the dedicated "Keypad" key, or for heavy keypad users, purchase a foot switch to shift the keypad active.
- Customize your keyboard: programmability is built in. Reduce repetition and adjust the work to your body.
International key actions and country-specific legends
- The standard key layout includes the alphanumeric keys normally available on a 102/105 international keyboard. Kinesis' International Layouts Page shows layouts for different countries.
- The embedded numeric keypad offers maximum productivity and comfort for 10-key users, especially using a foot switch.
- The embedded layer where the numeric keypad resides is basically a complete second set of key actions, It includes the three Windows key actions, three keys which generate mouse clicks if you are using ClikWare for Windows 95/98 plus five key actions normally only available on Japanese language keyboards
Compatibility
- All models are PS/2 compatible
- Any model can be Macintosh or Sun compatible and you can use both PC and non-PC pointing devices simultaneously with Kinesis Interface Devices.
